These two… this location… the fall colour palette… I couldn't get enough.
From the first time we met over coffee, Sharon + Rini were the absolute sweetest and most adorable human beings. When they asked if they could have their engagement session in the mountains, of course I had no objections. So off we went to Bow Lake (which I had only ever been to once previously and remember falling in love with the place!) for their fall engagement session.
I could not be more in love with these photos - the ones we got nearing the end of our session in the meadow resulted in some of my favourite photos I’ve ever taken. These two were absolute rockstars, braving some cold winds by the lake, and never once complained throughout the entire session (despite lasting waaaaay longer than I had planned for - I just couldn’t stop photographing these two!)
After hanging out with Sharon + Rini and getting these types of photos, it made me that much more excited for their spring wedding next year!

I was so excited when Kaela + Braden asked to have their engagement session at Lake Minnewanka/Two Jack Lake. I absolutely love it when couples opt to get their photos in the mountains (and since Eric and I had our own engagement photos done at the same location, I was extra excited).
Yet while it was warm and sunny when we left Calgary, we were met with some cooooold winds as soon as we got out of the car. However, these two didn't let it get in the way - they braved the cold and had no objections to cuddling up to keep each other warm ;)
I don't think I have ever photographed a couple that laughed as much as Kaela + Braden did during their session. With only a little bit of direction, I mostly sat back and clicked away as these two cracked each other up. It was almost as if I wasn't even there, which I absolutely didn't mind at all :)
After being introduced by Nicole's sister and Scott's brother (who married one another! How great is that??), Nicole + Scott ended up at the same poker night. And while they connected that evening, it wasn't until a bit later that their spark grew into a flame.
Last Christmas, they decided to exchange one gift every day for the 25 gifts of Christmas. Little did Nicole know that the very first gift contained a beautiful engagement ring from Scott.
Nicole + Scott will be saying their "I Do's" next August at the River Cafe in Calgary, and I can hardly wait. These two were such a blast to hang out with, and made my job behind the camera incredibly easy. We met in Mission to begin our session, and then continued down to Prince's Island Park for golden hour. It was pretty impossible to take a bad photo of these two. They're easy going, down to earth, and can always make the other smile.
Thank you Nicole + Scott for coming down to Calgary for your engagement session. I am so excited to share in your big day!

Katie & Geoff.. oh man. These two are the best. I first met them at Cafe Beano on a Friday morning and from the moment we met, I knew I was going to be a big fan of these two.
My fiance Eric laughs at me because I always tell him how I secretly want to be friends with all my clients, and I can certainly say that about these two. Katie & Geoff were just as interested in getting to know me and about my recent engagement as they were about their own.
While they were both nervous at the thought of an engagement session, they absolutely rocked it. We met in Inglewood and then finished our session down at Fish Creek Park. The gorgeous light and adorable couple made for some of my favourite photos to date.
Katie & Geoff, thanks for being such good sports and putting your trust in me as your photographer. I had so much fun with you guys and cannot wait to document your big day in August!
These two are just the cutest. And no, I'm not biased - I would still think they were cute even if one of them WASN'T my cousin. I had asked these two if I could take a few photos of their adorable selves, and they happily obliged. We met at Alouette lake, and even though they swore they would be awkward, it only took a couple photographs for the awkward to fade away and their love for one another come through.
I had so much fun shooting with you two! Thanks for being such willing and lovely subjects :)
Lexxie and Bryce are the perfect kind of people to photograph. We arrived at Deer Lake park and took about 3 photos before it started pouring rain. As they hid under my reflector, I asked them if they still wanted to get their photos done. They did, and luckily we were close to the Burnaby Heritage Museum, so we decided to head over there to get out of the rain. I'm almost glad it poured that day, because otherwise we wouldn't have ended up with these sweet photos! Thanks Lexxie and Bryce for sticking it out and letting me take your photos. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
A few weeks ago, these two lovebirds came to visit for a couple days on their vacation. Knowing that they make for wonderful subjects, I asked if I could take a picture or two of them as practice for my portfolio. Because they are beautiful people, inside and out, they of course said yes. Thanks for waking up early and toughing it out in the rain Alicia and Brad! I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
Katie and I went to high school together, so I was incredibly excited when she asked if I could take her and Max's engagement photos. It had been raining the previous week in Calgary, so we were nervous about what the weather would do. Yet our nerves were quickly put aside as it turned out to be a beautiful day down at Prince's Island Park. I am so happy with how these photos turned out, and had a ton of fun doing it (we even got our own mini bagpipe concert?). I wish these two all the best in their coming marriage!
If you couldn't tell from the crinkled-nose smile, the beautiful woman that you see in these photos is my very dear sister! In the fall of 2011, Alyssa asked me if I could take engagement photos for her and fiance, Stuart (as if I had a choice). The following photos are a result of a warm fall's afternoon in the river valley of Edmonton, AB. We had lots of fun with the shoot (especially playing up the rivalry between the devoted hockey fans). I'm pleased to report that the two have been happily married since July 2012, and are still bashing each other's hockey teams to this day.
