As of today, I am officially halfway done my 12 month program at VanArts! This term was even better than the last; I got to experience so many new and exciting things these past 3 months, from shooting inside mines, to mock wedding ceremonies to snowboard competitions. I was required to walk up to strangers on the street and ask to take their picture (yes, it was terrifying). I developed new friendships and strengthened existing relationships. I learned how to cook more than 5 recipes. I was pushed to find a story I was passionate about for my photo essay, which will take place over the next three months. I started running again (for real this time). I took a spontaneous roadtrip to San Diego to visit a dear friend, during which my roadtrip partner and I faced almost every kind of weather possible on our 30+ hour drive. And I almost cut my finger off with a potato peeler.
I wish I could've captured every memory from this past term, but I was too busy loving every moment of it. Regardless, below is a snapshot (pun intended) of what I've experienced. I can't wait to see what's next.
